This will include who the provisions apply to, how sick leave accrues, what sick leave can be utilized for, and what this means for existing paid-time-off plans. In addition, there will be a question and answer opportunity.ABOUT THE PRESENTER:  Kenneth Fahle, Anchorage Regional Supervisor, Wage & Hour, Labor Standards & Safety Division, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, State of Alaska.  As the Anchorage Regional Supervisor at Wage and Hour for the State of Alaska's Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Kenneth is tasked with enforcing the Alaska Wage and Hour Act, which ensures minimum wage, overtime, sick leave, return transportation, and child labor protections, as well as the prevailing wage requirement for public construction contracts. Kenneth is a veteran who came to Alaska in 2019 as part of his 10 years of active duty service and continues to serve as a combat medic with the Army Reserve. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Education and has prior law enforcement experience, including graduating from the Alaska State Trooper Academy. He began state service in 2023 and decided to focus on labor law with Wage and Hour in 2024.
